Sharing & Collaboration

Plan trips together with friends, family, or travel companions. dani.go's sharing feature lets you invite others to view and collaborate on your trip in real time.

Premium feature

Trip sharing is a Premium feature. Only the trip owner needs a Premium subscription — companions can join for free.

Inviting Companions

  1. Open your trip's details screen
  2. Tap the Share button
  3. A unique share link is generated (e.g., danigo.app/join/abc123)
  4. Send the link to your companions via text, email, or any messaging app

How Companions Join

When someone receives your share link:

  1. They tap the link and see a trip preview — even before signing in
  2. If they have a dani.go account, they sign in and are added to the trip
  3. If they're new, they create an account first, then automatically join

The share link works across all platforms — web, iOS, and Android.

Member Roles

Each trip member has a role that determines what they can do:

Managing Members

As the trip host, you can:

  • Change roles — Promote companions or restrict to view-only
  • Remove members — Remove someone from the trip
  • View member list — See all participants and their roles

Access member management from the trip's Manage screen.

Real-Time Collaboration

Everything in dani.go syncs in real time across all members and devices:

  • Timeline changes — When someone adds, edits, or removes an event, everyone sees it instantly
  • Chat messages — All companions can participate in the AI chat
  • Stash updates — Bookmarked places are visible to the group
  • Map updates — New markers appear for everyone simultaneously

No refresh needed

Changes appear automatically — there's no need to refresh or reload the trip. If a companion adds a restaurant in Tokyo, you'll see it pop up on your timeline within seconds.

Voting & Reactions

When planning with a group, decisions can be hard. dani.go makes it easy:

Voting on Options

When the AI shows search results (e.g., multiple hotel options), trip companions can vote on their preferred choice:

  • Each person can vote for their favorite option
  • Vote counts are visible to all members
  • The most popular choice is highlighted

Reactions

React to chat messages and events with emoji reactions to express your preferences without cluttering the conversation.

Activity Log

Keep track of who's doing what with the Activity Log:

  • See who added or modified events
  • Track when members joined or left
  • View a chronological history of all trip changes
  • Know who suggested which restaurants or activities

Access the Activity Log from the trip's management screen.

Notifications

Stay informed about trip changes with configurable notifications:

Notification Types

Notification Description
New events When someone adds a new event to the timeline
Event changes When an existing event is modified
Chat messages New messages in the trip chat
Member joined When a new companion accepts the invite

Notification Settings

Configure notifications per-trip:

  1. Open the trip's Notification Settings
  2. Toggle notification types on or off
  3. Set quiet hours to pause notifications during certain times

Tips

Share early

Invite companions early in the planning process so everyone can contribute ideas from the start.

Use voting for decisions

Instead of going back and forth in group chats, use the built-in voting feature when choosing between hotels, restaurants, or activities.

Assign planning tasks

One person can handle flights while another researches restaurants. Real-time sync means you'll see each other's additions immediately.

Only the owner needs Premium

Don't worry about asking friends to subscribe — only the trip creator (host) needs a Premium account. All companions join and participate for free.
