Plan Your First Trip

Let's create your first trip and use the AI assistant to build an itinerary.

Create a New Trip

  1. From the Home Screen, tap the + Create Trip button
  2. Enter a trip title (e.g., "Spring Break in Tokyo")
  3. Set your start date and end date using the calendar picker
  4. Tap Create

You'll be taken to the Trip Details screen — your planning headquarters.

The Trip Details Screen

The Trip Details screen has three main areas:

Area Description
Header Trip title, dates, destination cities, and trip photo
Timeline Your chronological itinerary with all events
Chat The AI assistant panel where you plan everything

Start Chatting with AI

The AI assistant is your trip planning partner. Just type naturally:

Try saying

  • "Find me a flight from Los Angeles to Tokyo on March 15"
  • "Search for hotels near Shibuya"
  • "What are some good ramen restaurants in Shinjuku?"
  • "Find things to do in Asakusa"

How the AI Planning Flow Works

Ask the AI

Type your request naturally — the AI understands travel context.

Review Results

The AI searches databases and shows you options as interactive buttons with photos, ratings, and details.

Select & Confirm

Tap your preferred option. The AI shows a confirmation summary with all the details.

Added to Timeline

Confirm and the event appears on your timeline instantly — complete with photos, address, and schedule.

Build a Sample Itinerary

Here's an example conversation to build a day in Tokyo:

You: Find me a flight from LAX to Tokyo on March 15

AI: I found several options. Here are the available flights... (shows flight buttons with prices and times)

You: (taps a flight option)

AI: Here's the flight summary: LAX → NRT, March 15, 11:30 AM... Ready to add this to your trip?

You: Yes, add it

AI: Flight added to your timeline!

You: Find me a hotel in Shibuya for 5 nights

AI: Here are hotels in Shibuya... (shows hotel options with ratings and photos)

Continue this pattern to add restaurants, activities, train rides, and more!

What's on the Timeline

Each event on your timeline shows:

  • Photo of the place (with swipeable carousel for multiple photos)
  • Name and type (flight, hotel, restaurant, activity, etc.)
  • Date and time with timezone
  • Address with a link to maps
  • Ratings and reviews when available
  • Business hours, phone number, and website
  • Duration for transportation events

Save Places for Later

Not ready to add something to your timeline? Tap the bookmark icon on any search result to save it to your Stash. You can review and add stashed places later.
